Simple, Fast and Effective
I have had many routers over the years, and found that many have been good at some aspects but not others. This is the first one I have found that seems to work with everything that I need it to. some would not work with my NAS drive, others would have problems with multiple devices and some would simply stop working for short periods of time. I already had a 450mbps but was having problems getting the signal to reliably cover the whole house.
I'm not a network specialist and I find it very frustrating when so many of the routers are so tricky to set up and get working. This My Net router was relatively easy to get working and more importantly everything worked and worked well. It is probably the fastest or at least one of the fastest routers you can get, and the coverage seems to be an improvement on my previous router.
I was connecting the following to it:
Wired:
- Toshiba Smart TV
- PS3
- Blu-ray player
- Freeview HD set top...
Easy to set up and provides reliable internet
As someone with not a huge amount of technical knowledge I was pleased that this was really easy to set up. I have found that there are fewer instances of lost signal than with my old o2 router, and speeds seem slightly improved too.
A perfect, top-end router
Search no further, your hunt for the perfect router ends here. The WD N9000 is the best, plain and simple. The bandwidth may top out at 450mbps, but this is dual band so you won't be running on fumes if you've got more than one device hooked up to the internet. And even with a relatively low speed you'll still not encounter any buffering on your HD video streaming (as always, this depends on your service provider). The router contains FasTrack Plus, which makes HD video a priority over anything else clogging up the signal. Speaking of which, it reached all corners of the house no problems. There are a massive SEVEN Ethernet ports at the back for anyone needing to plug in many TVs, PS3s, etc. I personally have no use for this many, but for large households I guess this is a welcome feature. Two USB ports are also there for printers and scanners. The dashboard feature will also come in handy for large households and parents wishing to restrict access and such, but I have no use for it...
