Netgear Universal WiFi RangeExtender(DE)

Very easy - that's all
Recently moved to Virgin and found that the supplied (Netgear router) has a very weak signal. When placed in our ground floor study it would reach our kitchen (the next room) and scarcely reached our lounge. Speed dropped from c9mbps to .25mbs.
Very easy to set up. You plug it in (which I did in our kitchen), press the button on top of the router and then press a button on the extender and it automatically connects. It gives you the same router ID as you main one with _EXT at the end and you access the Netgear extender by selecting it and simply inputting the same passphrase as you main router. You are effectively have access to two networks. Given that our kitchen is in the centre of the house we are all logged on to it with a good range extension. Getting 8/9 mbps in the lounge now and a reach in the rest of the house we didn't have before. Took two mins, that's all.
Have had it running for a couple of weeks now and repeatedly tests the broadband speed and it has held up...
Great Product....You can buy at any UK store for cheaper price
This wireless extender is very easy to setup. It took me about 15 seconds to pair this with my Netgear wireless router.
Place the extender where the signal strength is reasonably good.

Thanks to Amazon, received the product quickly.....from mainland Europe. The main drawbacks of ordering from Amazon are:
1. The setup instructions are NOT in English. I had to look-up Netgear site for English instructions
2. The plug is European!!! with a UK converter. This does not allow the extender to be plugged to UK plug-point vertically. It jets out.
3. More expensive than UK stores like PC-World/Curry's
2 easy
I received mine this morning. Because I use WEP protocol the WPS option doesn't work with WEP. The setup guide supplied with the extender explains clearly under option 2, how to set up using WEP. It took 5 minutes tops! I'm relatively computer savvy but now in the "old fart" category. I knew I was using WEP. If you're not really into computers, the chances are your using WPS where the set up is even easier. In any case simply follow the instructions and it'll work! I've just been surfing from the greenhouse!
