Great for the money
I have had 2 previous wireless routers, one expensive and one another low cost brand. Of them all this was certainly the easiest to set up. It is fast and the signal loses nothing from my ground floor to second floor bedroom (and I live in a thick walled victorian 3 storey terraced house). The signal even reaches to the top of my 200 feet long rear garden.
Low cost and great value for money. Highly recommended.
My Review
The TP-Link TL-WR841ND router met all the requirements I needed. For others thinking of buying this I will list the pros, cons and other info.
Pro's -
* Very nice design,
* Easy Setup,
* Incredible Range, (I have a fairly large back garden and I can get a 2-3 (out of 5) bar signal with my laptop at the very back of the garden). I have a 4-5 Bar anywhere inside the house.
* The speed doesn't falter through wireless either, with ethernet I have ~9 Mbs and through wireless at max range it is ~7-8 Mbs.
* Very easy setup for wireless devices through the QSS system the router uses. I had my wireless printer and laptop through wireless in seconds.
* The Price.
Cons -
* When starting the install process, the disc provided for some reason wouldn't register the device, HOWEVER, I simply just connected it to my laptop through ethernet and used my browser for 192.168.1.1 (This is all in the manual incase the CD doesn't work) and...
Easy to set up, great performance, keen price
This is the third TP-Link item I have bought in recent months for home, friends, and work, and delighted with all of them. Didn't bother with the setup CD - just set it all up using the web interface on 192.168.1.1. If the setup CD is as good and clear as the web interface then I am sure it will work fine, but using a web interface is what I'm used to so that's how I did it.
The setup is all as you'd expect, with everything there that you need. Very clear setup screens, useful help, and no surprises.
No fancy gizmos - just a good, plain, honest wireless router that ... erm ... routes. Good signal and range. Highly recommended.
