Linksys by Cisco WRT160N Wireless-N Router - 300 mbps (for Cable connections i.e Virgin Broadband)

Linksys by Cisco WRT160N Wireless-N Router
A good buy! This arrived promptly from Amazon a day earlier than expected. Its very simple to set up with a cd-rom which walks you throught the set up. I was all set up in about 15mins. I've been able to use PC, PSP, PS3 and iPod Touch through this. It has one of the highest security encryptions available which was a big part of the buy for me.
The only reason that I did not give this 5/5 is that it occasionally times out, so you need to press a button on it and then the connection is restored. This has only happened on PS3 and ipod - never with the PC.
Overall, highly recommended!
No problems with the router itself, very satisfied
My old router, a Belkin G, had started disconnecting every 5-10 minutes so I bought this as a replacement. Set up was very easy, and within 10 minutes everything was working perfectly. I ran into two snags: the first one was when I turned on Network Lock by accident, preventing my sister from being able to connect. Turning it off obviously sorted this instantly. The second was that one of the laptop's I was trying to connect it to wasn't showing up with any wireless networks, which turned out to be a problem with its wireless card. Neither of these were actual defects or problems with the router itself.

The signal seems very stable and snappy compared to my old router. In my room I'm not getting ethernet cable connection speeds but the speed I am getting is decent nontheless. I'm on 20mb broadband, get 14-18mb when connected directly via ethernet cable to my router, and 7-12mb up in my room (the signal has to pass through steel girders so this is to be expected)...
All things considered it's a decent bit of kit
Considering all the reviews and my own opinions of this excellent product:
Positives
- great range and strength of signal throughout my house. I have used other wireless access points before and there were tons of deadspots. With this the LOWEST I get is 75%! Nice
- no timing out of wireless signals and decent throughput of network traffic for my laptop - alomost comparable to wired speeds I am used to.
- fast and easy operation of all features (once configured)
- looks cool - you would WANT to show this off!

Negatives
- loses a star because the configuration is not as straight forward as it could be. It failed for me the first 2 times so I configured it manually (which is easy) using the web interface and the manual. I think this is because the CD installer does not cover all required configuration options eg. disabling the DHCP (network address) server if not needed and I had to do this manually since my ADSL modem already does DHCP. Whilst I...
