helpful tech support
Bought the previous version of this which was very easy to install and does a good job. The best bit about buying Belkin is their customer support. They have a 24 hour free-phone number that gets answered promptly, unlike most tech support desks that are expensive and take ages to answer (whilst they tell you how important your call is to them!). The staff in India are extremely knowledgable, friendly and helpful. They also have an excellent system such that when I spoke to someone new they immediately knew the history of my problem, whereas most support desks need the problem explaining all over again. All in all I received outstanding service and in my experience Belkin have by far the best support team of any I have used.
Quick and easy to setup. No problems since!
Either I got a good unit or the people writing some of these reviews have been using this thing wrong. I set it up for my parents' PC and it took only a few minutes to connect to their broadband account. The signal from a couple of rooms away is fine and they've had no problems with it since I put it in over two months ago now.
Amzing piece of Kit
Warning to the technophobe! This is not easy to setup! It may be frustrating at times but it is a learning curve. My dad bought this for me and a USB adapter (required if setting up a wireless network fyi) hoping to set it up in a jiffy and have no problems at all. Unfortunately my dad is not very "computer literate" as he puts it and I had to take over. Setting up the router is straight forwardish and so is the USB adapter its getting the dam things to "talk" to each other thats the problem. After using belkins online free help chat service thing it was setup and works like a charm! But a word of advice it is very useful to have a friend or relative that is good with computers or has an a-level in it lol! I've read previous posts and from the descriptions it appears to be problems with their computer setups or broadband lines themselves (dont trust BT as I had a similar problem with them regarding a different piece of kit they WILL pass the blame until you shout at someone lol)...
