Belkin AC 950/1150 Wi-Fi Dual Band USB Adapter

Compact and efficient
My previous Belkin home hub adaptor had lost the plot somehow, so I was looking for a reasonably priced replacement. From the many listed, there were not many that specified compatibility with Windows 7, which is crucial. It wasn't too difficult to set up, considering I am not especially computer-literate, but you had to locate your card with the Home hub key and password etc on in order to reset it. Since then I have had no problems keeping in contact with the home hub, which is situated about 10 yards away, separated by two brick walls. The item itself is extremely compact, hardly more than a thumbnail in size, so doesn't protrude far from the computer.
Problem Solved!
For quite a while I had been experiencing problems with the range of the wireless connection in my house. Problem started when I moved home. I moved to a larger house that is old and has very thick walls. Despite using a wireless N router, the signal was poor and sometimes non-existant in certain parts of the house which was pretty irritating. Phoned up the broadband provider a few times to discuss the problem and was told that it was likely due to the house having thick walls. After about the third time of calling I was told to try changing the network channel to one that was less busy. Did this and it improved the situation slightly. I was then told to check the laptop to see what network the computer was set up to run with and found that it was set up for wireless G and not N.

Did a bit of browsing for various wireless network adapters and found this one which obviously is compatible with N. It came with a CD for set up. Fired the CD into the computer and from there on...
A Great Buy for something so small
When I update my BT hub to the new fibre broadband I needed a new wireless adapter for my laptop and as I was already using a Belkin Wireless G+, I check out on Amazon to see if I could get a new Belkin adapter. And I found a large range of Belkin adapters and the one I saw and purchase was the Belkin Wireless N300 USB Adaper I did have one problem getting the software install but this was only because another program was stopping me install the Belkin software, but in the end I have got the software for the adapter install, and I am getting on line within about 10 minutes. And the best thing about this adapter is the size of it, as it only stick out of the side of my laptop by about 3cmms, and I am getting good speeds as well so yes I am happy with this purchase.

Belkin 802.11g Wireless Modem Router and Usb Adapter Bundle (F5D7632uk4 / F5D7050uk)

helpful tech support
Bought the previous version of this which was very easy to install and does a good job. The best bit about buying Belkin is their customer support. They have a 24 hour free-phone number that gets answered promptly, unlike most tech support desks that are expensive and take ages to answer (whilst they tell you how important your call is to them!). The staff in India are extremely knowledgable, friendly and helpful. They also have an excellent system such that when I spoke to someone new they immediately knew the history of my problem, whereas most support desks need the problem explaining all over again. All in all I received outstanding service and in my experience Belkin have by far the best support team of any I have used.
Quick and easy to setup. No problems since!
Either I got a good unit or the people writing some of these reviews have been using this thing wrong. I set it up for my parents' PC and it took only a few minutes to connect to their broadband account. The signal from a couple of rooms away is fine and they've had no problems with it since I put it in over two months ago now.
Amzing piece of Kit
Warning to the technophobe! This is not easy to setup! It may be frustrating at times but it is a learning curve. My dad bought this for me and a USB adapter (required if setting up a wireless network fyi) hoping to set it up in a jiffy and have no problems at all. Unfortunately my dad is not very "computer literate" as he puts it and I had to take over. Setting up the router is straight forwardish and so is the USB adapter its getting the dam things to "talk" to each other thats the problem. After using belkins online free help chat service thing it was setup and works like a charm! But a word of advice it is very useful to have a friend or relative that is good with computers or has an a-level in it lol! I've read previous posts and from the descriptions it appears to be problems with their computer setups or broadband lines themselves (dont trust BT as I had a similar problem with them regarding a different piece of kit they WILL pass the blame until you shout at someone lol)...

Netgear RangeMax WPN824 MIMO-G Wireless Cable Router

Rangemax - Purchase a beauty
I brought the rangemax wireless router to use BT Broadband with 2 home computers and a laptop. The range and speed is almost always around 54mps and an excellent signal quality. I have sat at the end of our 200ft garden and can still get a good signal. The setup was easy enough just put in the CD and your off. One word of warning though this product needs an external Ethernet Modem not USB as supplied with most broadband providers.
Netgear Router WPN824
Excelent piece of hardware!
I was a little worried that the signal would not be stong enough to go through two floors, and numerous walls, to be recieved at the bottom of the house by my laptop, however signal is good/very good 90% of the time which is far better than I expected.
I needed a little help setting up, and sorting password security, but technical support were excelent, and all was sorted in a matter of minutes.
Therefore if you need a router with good signal strength, this seems to do the job very well!
Ignore the FRUSTRATED review below
This to alert non-techie users to the bad information given in the review posted on 4 January 2006 entitled "Frustrated - Not Half". It is not Netgear's fault that the wrong router was purchased by the previous reviewer. This router is designed to work with cable broadband suppliers (such as NTL & Telewest) and therefore will not support PPPoA as they don't use that protocol. However if you want PPPoA to use with a BT phone line, you need the Netgear model DG834PN - the ADSL Modem Router. This does support PPPoA and will work with any broadband that uses a BT phone line. I have used both Netgear & Belkin products, so I know what I'm talking about.

Devolo dLAN 200 Avsmart and Starter UK Kit (Pass-Thru, Filter + LCD) (2x Plugs)

Does exactly what it says on the tin
Home mains networking has arrived and it is both reliable and affordable! For years I have been fiddling about with Ethernet cables and wireless, trying to network our home computers. Wireless signal strength has always been distinctly iffy, and last week the Ethernet cable that I laid across the hall, under the new carpet and a couple of very full bookcases, gave up the ghost - leaving us with a much-used desktop PC that had no Internet connectivity. "No sweat," I said. "I've been thinking of moving that PC to wireless anyway". So I ran down to Maplin and came back with a leading brand wireless PCI card, installed it, and got it working in about 30 minutes. Trouble was, the signal strength was so gutless - from a router two rooms and about 40 feet away - it couldn't get us on to the Internet at all! Back to square one. (Incidentally, while researching I discovered that metal and water stop wireless dead; brick, stone, and breeze blocks attenuate it by 90-95 percent; and even double...
EASY CONNECTIONS
This is a great product if, like me, you live in an old house with very thick walls which will defeat almost any wireless network. Works out of the box even with less than modern wiring and I have not experienced any drop-out or freezing so far. The only problem was that one plug failed after only a few hours use but the returns service at Amazon quickly sent a replacement and arranged to collect the faulty item - full marks to them.
Very simple to use but limited support for Mac OS X
I purchased the starter kit to improve the speed of my home network as I have a couple of Apple Macs in different rooms. Setting the network up was very simple indeed - I plugged the units into the mains sockets and they automatically recognised each other. I was also impressed by the network's speed which was about 40% faster that the previous connection over a 20 metre phone extension cable. Devolo also provide a utility that enables you to encrypt the network which was quick and easy to use.

However I was slightly disappointed in the lack of support for OS X users. Windows users are provided with a network utility and a way to upgrade the firmware on the devices - in contrast there's nothing available for Apple OS X users which is a pity given they market the product as OS X compatible.

Belkin 802.11g Wireless G Gaming Adapter

Just for Gaming?
Don't let the name throw you; Belkin's Wireless G Gaming Adapter is a sound and reliable bridge, by all means this isn't just for your gaming consoles.

Assuming most users will have some degree of security on their networks initially the bridge will need configuring with your network settings; this can be done with the supplied software disc or, in my opinion, much more easily using the bridge's internal interface (initially accessed at "192.168.2.225"). Either way - to configure it you will need to use your computer.

Connect up the bridge to an Ethernet (LAN) port on your computer ensuring that either you or the DHCP sets the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) of the connection to a suitable address subnet to access the bridge - the initial IP of the F5D7330 is '192.168.2.225' (so the IP address of the connection should be set as '192.168.2.xx' where "xx" is any number between 1 and 255 (with the exception of 225), subnet mask as 255.255.255.0 and the gateway as...
Just what I needed
I was looking for a way to connect my new TV to my wireless network at home. I already have a wireless router upstairs, and needed a way to connect up my TV. As all my TV had on the back was an Ethernet port, I didn't fancy running an ethernet cable through the house. I also didn't want to spend a fortune buying a second full-blown wireless router.

This device solves that problem. You connect the Ethernet cable from the TV (or X-box, PS3, blue-ray player... anything with an Ethernet port) to the back of the device. It then connects this to your wireless network.

The setup is fairly simple. You first need to connect the device directly to your PC, but this is only so you can set up any encryption keys you are using. Once you've done that, you don't need to put it anywhere near a PC again.

You can power it either with the mains adaptor, or using the power from two USB slots, (cable provided). I use the mains adaptor, as this is easier for me, but...
Fantastic piece of kit
I was worried that this product would make my XBox Live connection slow and lag, but it works fine with a 54Mbps router. There are a few moments occasionally (about once every hour) when the game lags behind a bit, but its nothing too disruptive, and it depends on how good your router is.

People have been saying you have to download extra firmware if you want WPA or WPA 2 support for your network, but it seems this problem has been fixed, as all I had to do was load the CD and follow a few steps on the PC, plug it into the XBox and I was off. I didnt need to configure the router on the XBox dashboard, it was all done on the PC.

The adapter can be powered by either two USB ports (the ones in the XBox work fine) or a power adapter. It also fits in with the colour scheme of the XBox 360, so it is not much of an eyesore.

All in all, a great product, just as good if not better than the official XBox 360 adapter at a lower price.

Belkin Wireless N150 Modem Router ADSL (BT Line)

Good for the price
First of all, I have to emphasise misleading marketing on the part of Belkin. Where this product is described as an N150 router, you would expect speeds of 150mbps, however the router only goes slightly above Wireless g speed, at 65mbps maximum speed.
The router is not 802.11n certified, but in practice, the range and speed are more than satisfactory for a standard ADSL broadband connection. It is certainly a fair bit faster than our old D-Link DSL-G624T router, which reached only g speeds, and began to seem painfully slow at the end of it's useful life.

Yes, it can be temperamental at times, but this doesn't mean you shouldn't buy it. It drops out occasionally but usually reconnects without needing a restart, and for little more than
